OPC elections, as Local Council elections, are held every 4 years.
The election is conducted by postal ballot.
All Brighton & Hove residents aged over 60 are eligible to vote, but must register with Electoral Services first.
Brighton and Hove Electoral Wards are split into 9 OPC Zones
—Zone 1 (Rottingdean Coastal and Woodingdean wards)
—Zone 2 ( East Brighton and Queens Park wards)
—Zone 3 (Hollingdean & Stanmer and Moulsecoomb & Bevendean wards)
—Zone 4 (Hanover & Elm Grove, Preston Park, and St Peter’s & North Laine wards)
—Zone 5 (Patcham and Withdean wards)
—Zone 6 (Brunswick & Adelaide, Goldsmid and Regency wards)
—Zone 7 (Hangleton & Knoll, and Hove Park wards)
—Zone 8 ( North Portslade, South Portslade and Wish wards)
—Zone 9 (Central Hove and Westbourne wards)
Registered voters in each Zone will be able to vote for candidates standing in their own Zone.
Ballot papers with return envelopes wil be sent out to all voters in the contested Zones.
The next election is due to take place on 4th July 2015.
If you are aged over 60, make sure you are eligible to vote. The deadline for registration is May 2015.
